High Desert Angler opened its doors in 1985 as the the first fly fishing shop in Santa Fe.  Jarrett Sasser began working for the shop in the early 1990's as a guide and retail associate.  In 1998 he purchased the shop and remains its owner today.

      The store itself has moved around a couple times since those years but each time to a larger and more convenient location where it could better serve its clients and customers.  High Desert Angler was born as the premiere fly fishing shop in New Mexico and remains so today, with a fully stocked retail space, unparalleled customer service and a guide staff that is second to none.

     High Desert Angler is the only outfitter that offers its clients private water access on the Pecos River which runs only 30 minutes from Santa Fe.
